The lottery offers a total of 6 prize divisions, with a fixed amount of £1,000,000 in the second prize division. Players choose 6 numbers from between 1 to 59. A Lotto bet contains 7 columns with a range of numbers from 1 to 59. You should complete at least one of these seven columns with six numbers that you choose from the given set (1 – 59). You can find detailed instructions on how to place a physical and online bet below.
There are three ways to bet:
in person from a certified Lotto dealer
online at The National Lottery
through the mobile application
When and at what time is the Lotto drawn?

Until when can one bet on the Lotto?
On the already mentioned draw days (Wednesday and Saturday), it is possible to bet the last tickets for the next draw until 7:30 p.m., then the receipt of tickets ends and opens again at 9 p.m.
Lotto price
one column of the Lotto lottery costs 2 £
full ticket to the Lotto lottery costs 14 £ (7 columns)
🏆 Lotto winnings
All Lotto winnings are determined by the number of numbers you hit. The more numbers you select in one column match the numbers drawn from the lottery, the higher your winnings are.
Lotto brings you a winning table with a total of 6 winning orders, while the jackpot is not fixed. Its amount affects both when it was last won and the number of bets closed for the given draw – a certain share of the amount obtained by closed bets is added to the jackpot from the last draw, constituting a new jackpot. The jackpot can be a minimum of £1 million for each winner from a single draw. From the second winning order, the winnings are fixed.

Jackpot Rollover and Rolldown
If no one guesses all 6 numbers in the draw, a Rollover occurs. The jackpot multiplier will be carried over to the next draw. It can be converted up to 5 times this way. If the Jackpot is still not won, the Rolldown will begin.
In the “Must Be Won” draw, if no one wins the jackpot by correctly guessing all 6 main numbers, a mechanism called “Rolldown” occurs.
How Rolldown works
If no one hits all 6 main numbers, players who guess 2 main numbers will get a Lucky Dip and an additional £5 towards their winnings.
The rest of the money after the payout from the Jackpot is divided into other winning orders as follows.
This mechanism means that thousands of players can expect an increased win.
Probability of winning in Lotto
The probability of winning in the Lotto is determined by the number of numbers you choose from and subsequently by the number of numbers you have to hit to win. The more numbers you hit, the smaller the probability, on the other hand, the bigger the win (and vice versa). The odds of winning the Lotto jackpot are 1 : 45 057 474 and the odds of winning anything are 1 : 9,3. Below you will find a clear table with the chances of winning according to the winning order:

Can I increase my chances of winning in Lotto?
It is nearly impossible to increase your chances of winnings because it is pure mathematics/probability and you cannot cheat. However, you can help it a little bit, check out two ways how you improve the probability of winning the Lotto below. The only two ways to increase the probability of winning are:
bet more columns in one bet
bet more full bets at once
There is no guide on how to win the Lotto lottery. The only way to increase your chances of winning and lean closer to the odds is to bet more columns per bet or place multiple bets. Each bet column forms a unique six-number combination, which may be the one that will eventually be drawn in the draw. The more unique six-number combinations bet, the higher the chance that one of them will be winning.
What is a Bonus ball?
Bonus ball is drawn last, that is the seventh, lucky number when drawing Lotto. Bonus ball helps you get a better win when you manage to get “only” five numbers out of six correctly. The moment you hit six numbers, you automatically win the jackpot prize of the 1st order. If you manage to get 5 numbers, you will win the prize of the 3rd order. However, when you match five numbers and the seventh bonus ball number is drawn, you win the second prize, which is fixed at £1 000 000.
Loterie HotPicks
HotPicks lottery uses the numbers drawn within the Lotto lottery for its evaluation, so players often feel like it is the same lottery. However, this is not true. The only thing that HotPicks and Lotto share is the results, nothing more. This is a separate lottery, as evidenced by the fact that on our website you will find a separate article about the HotPicks lottery.
How does the Lotto draw work?
As we have already disclosed above, the Lotto draw takes place every Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 7:45 p.m. The entire draw takes place with the help of a lottery certified by the relevant authorities, in which 59 balls with numbers from 1 to 59 are driven by pressure. 6 numbers of the main game and 1 bonus ball are then drawn with 2 lottery tickets ball. You can watch the entire draw on the company’s YouTube channel. The lottery results are usually released to the world between 9 and 9:30 p.m. when you can read them on our website, on the lottery website, in the application, and watch the entire draw straight away on the mentioned YouTube channel.
Lotto subscription
Before we go into a detailed description of how and where you can bet on this lottery, we have to tell you some information about the subscription that Lotto offers you.
As part of the Lotto lottery, you have the option to decide whether you want to place a bet, online or physical, only on the next draw or whether you want to place it on several consecutive draws.
Lotto subscription options
only for the next draw
for a specific number of subsequent draws
by Direct Debit
The option to bet on the next draw is clear and does not need to be described at length. In short, every bet entered into the lottery, unless you change it, is bet on one of the nearest draws.
A bet on a specific number of draws is a bit trickier, but nothing you can’t understand in a few sentences. As part of the Lotto lottery bet, you can decide whether you want to bet on the Wednesdays, Saturdays or both draws that week and afterwards decide, how many weeks in advance you want to close the bet. You have a choice of 1-4 weeks with two draws per week. You can thus subscribe to a bet up to 8 draws in advance.
If you happen to think that eight draws is not enough, you have a third option and that is to bet by Direct Debit. This option means that every week your bet will reset and bet again, you are charged for this whole process in monthly intervals. You don’t have to worry about missing any draw or not being able to bet in time, a bet made by Direct Credit will always make sure that this can never happen to you.
How and where can I bet on Lotto?
You can bet on Lotto in three ways:

How to bet on Lotto purchased from a retailer?

You have a choice of two draw days – Wednesday and Saturday, which one do you want to place your bet on? Tick the appropriate day.
Decide if you want your bet to be repeated
As we wrote above, you can make one bet up to 8 draws ahead. If you would really like to place your bet on more than one draw, tick the appropriate number of draws on your physical bet.
Choose your lucky numbers
Go to the first column where numbers from 1 to 59 are waiting for you and tick your 6 lucky numbers. If you do not know which numbers you would like to choose, contact the operator and she will help you choose random numbers (the random number generator will choose them for you).
Fill in as many columns as you want
Within one bet you can fill up to 7 columns. Fill in as many of them as you want and can, but remember that each bet column increases the price of your bet.
Give the bet to the operator and pay
If you are satisfied with the way you filled out your bet, you have written as many columns as you wanted, you have checked when you want to place the bet, etc., then hand it over to the operator. The branch operator will ask you to pay two pounds for each column bet. After paying for the bet, the attendant will give you a bet confirmation, which you must keep. You will need it if you win.
